Timothy "Tim" Theodore Duncan is my hero. He was born on April 25th, 1976. Not only is he my hero he is my favorite basketball player. Tim is one of the Spurs trio.
Tim Duncan, the 6 ft 11 inches power forward/center is a four-time NBA champion, has been awarded the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award three times, and is the current captain of the Spurs. Duncan entered the NBA in 1997 after graduating with a college degree from Wake Forest University.
Not many people know much about the begining of Tim Duncan. Duncan didn't even think about perusing basketball as a career before the ninth grade. He wanted to become an Olympic swimmer like his older sister. One more detail that people don't know about Duncan is that his mom influenced him the most. She passed away when Tim was 14. Tim's favorite sports personality was Magic Johnson. Another surprising thing about Duncan is that he wears the Jersey number 21 as a tribute to his brother-in-law, who taught him to play basketball when he was 14. It was his number in college.
Basketball is my most favorite sport to watch even though I'm not much of a player. I'm crazy about the Spurs. They are my favorite team and I hope that they win many championships in the future. He is my role model because he is someone everyone can look up to. Tim Duncan is my hero.
