My hero’s name is Tony Hawk; his birth name is Frank Hawk. He was the youngest of 4 children. His brother’s name is Steve and his two sisters are Lenore and Patricia. At 9 years old, his brother changed his life by giving a blue fiber glass banana board. Tony’s dad built a skateboard ramp in his back yard to practice. When he was 12 years old he won his first competition. By the time he was 14, he was a professional.
On June 27, 1999, he was the first skateboarder to land a “900” (2 and a half spins). After 10 tries, he finally landed it. Tony Hawk said, “It was the best day of my life.” Later on in 2001, he landed the trick again during X Games. This is a very big skateboarding event.
Currently, Tony Hawk lives in Tracy, California, U.S. and has lived in California his whole life. Tony has 4 children, Andre born 1992, Spencer born 1999, Keegan born 2001 and Kanence born 2008.
I admire Tony for being an awesome skateboarder and an inspiration to many young boarders. He inspires me, by being a very good skateboarder at a young age and old age.
