Tommy Douglas got MediCare in Canada for free. When you get a twisted arm you go to the hospital and get a cast and you don't pay. Tommy came to Canada from Scotland. Tommy Douglas led the NDP party for ten years.
Tommy Douglas is my hero because Tommy Douglas made the MediCare free. He was also the seventh prime mister of Canada. I think Tommy Douglas was a great leader for the NDP party. He was the leader for ten years in Saskatchewan. Tommy is no longer alive any more.
