Tyla

by Alyssa from Steubenville

If I had to tell you who my hero is. it would have to be my sister Tyla. Tyla lives in Akron and also goes to school there. Tyla is 21 years of age. A hero to me is some one who is caring, loving and understanding and is always there and watches out for you on anything you do in life. That's Tyla to me. She is the kind of young lady that will not ask for help, even if it takes all night. She'll do it by herself. I have always looked at her as a adult even when I was a little girl.

Tyla has not been just a big sister to me, she has been my best friend. The funny thing is Tyla and I never got along with each other. We were always fighting over somthing. There was a time in our lives that my mother would step out on us and that's when I knew Tyla was my hero. She had to step up and be an adult for me and my sister. Tyla worked everyday after school so that me and my sister would have what we needed. My father was around but he wasn't. My sister showed me in life that you don't need anyone to hold you by the hand and walk you through life. If you want the best things in life, you have to do it yourself. Tyla showed my that someone truly cares for me. She showed me that if God took her away today I will be ok because I can become something if I just put my mind to it.

Tyla lives and goes to school up in Akron. She put herself through school. So yes, she works on holidays and when she comes home she works up at the school so she can pay off her schooling. Tyla has been living up in Akron for over 3 years now.

Tyla has changed my life in many different ways. She showed me in life to just be me. Never give up on yourself. Don't let people around you bring you down. Love yourself before you love others and be true to yourself. I leave everything in God's hands now. And I give all thanks to my sister Tyla for showing me that I am loved. So yes, I have a hero and and her name is Tyla Dudley and she will always be my hero.
