Bernard Woma

Heroes are people who work hard and do a great deed. They’re extraordinary people that want to make a difference in the world. They all have a unique ability to change a person’s life forever. Bernard Woma is a famous xylophonist player from Ghana and is a hero in that country.

Bernard Woma was born in the village of Hiineteng, Ghana. Since Bernard was born, his father knew that Bernard was destined to be a xylophone player. So, his father purchased a pair of xylophones for him. At age five, he was introduced to a xylophone maker, Ziem Tibo, who became his mentor and guide.

Bernard Woma is a composer and performer, and a teacher too. He has students in Africa, Europe and United States who learn traditional Ghanaians drum and xylophone music. In 1999, he decided to share his music with students in Ghana. He opened the Dagara Music and Arts Center in Media. Students live and work at the center, as they learn traditional drumming, dancing and xylophone music and visual arts.

Bernard Woma has accomplished making fabulous music for everyone in Ghana and around the world. He is creative in his music. He is passionate and loves when people enjoy his music. Bernard Woma has made a great musical world for himself and others.

A hero is a person who wants to make a difference in other’s lives and has done a great deed. They have a unique ability to change a person’s life forever. My hero is Bernard Woma, a xylophonist from Ghana He is a hero around the world.
