This quote explains how Ellen wants the best for everyone in this world even if you have failed or succeeded. Ellen was born on January 26 1958, in Metairie, Louisiana. At the age of 23, Ellen began performing at a local coffeehouse. She got her big debut in 1986 when she got to be on The Tonight Show. She continued on to becoming an actress in Finding Nemo, Mr.Wrong, and The Love Letter. In 1997 she came out as gay and became a strong advocate of LGBTQ rights. She got to be a host on a sitcom show in 2003 called The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Ellen received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September of 2012. A hero like Ellen, must possess the traits of caring and braveness. Ellen Degeneres is a hero because she chooses to use her fame in order to inspire the youth and to be an example of happiness and influencing people to find their purpose. She also played a big role in helping out the LGBTQ community.

She first came out on a show, “A week before the episode aired, DeGeneres made a well-publicized “coming out” of her own, appearing on the cover of TIME magazine under the headline “Yep, I’m Gay.” She was really scared to come out because she didn't know if she would be accepted by the people who watch her show. When she came out, her show was cancelled for a long time until it came back on air when people started to accept the LGBTQ community. She changed millions of peoples lives when she came out because they were dealing with the same thing but to scared to come out, “We’re all supposed to be different. I want so badly to encourage everyone to say, “Who am I and how do I want to live my life?” Ellen wants people to know that being different is ok and it's nothing to be ashamed of. She wants everyone to live there life how they want to live it and not how others want them to. This shows that Ellen is a truly brave person that stands up for herself.
