STORIES
Family

My Dad has always been my hero. As I was growing up, I felt like he was the wisest and strongest man in the world. He was a World War II veteran who fought to protect our precious country. He always made me feel like I could do anything I set out to accomplish and he was constantly there to encourage me in all my pursuits.

When he became ill with cancer, I was beside myself. I wanted to be able to help him even though the doctors told us there wasn't much they could do. He fought a brave battle against that disease - never complaining, but upbeat, trying to encourage his family to be positive. He felt like he could beat the cancer but in the end he was unable to last it out.

I truly believe that God saw how tired Dad was getting and, knowing he couldn't get any better, GOD decided to take his pain away and let him rest. It proves to me that GOD ONLY TAKES THE VERY BEST.
