Essay

My mother is 5 feet 3 inches, and she's 50 years young. She was a accountant for 20 years and converted to personal support worker. She's the epitome of "good things come in small packages." She makes the best presents for Christmas and is the nicest person I know. She raised me to be the kindest man I could be. My mother loves to play Facebook games a little too much. She loves to bake and cook, and makes the best lasagna, and she loves going to bingo with her mother. My mom is my hero because she has been through many tough times, and because she raised me and my brother as a widow.

Firstly, my mother is my hero because she has been through a lot of tough times. For example, my mother went through stomach bypass surgery and for the period of four months had a very strict diet. She made it through the first four difficult months, and for the rest of the time she kept a steady and healthy diet. She has lost around 200 pounds. My mother inspires me through her actions. She makes me think that I can do anything.

Secondly, my mother raised me and my brother as a widow. My father died in 2008 when I was only 3 years old. My mother had to cope with my fathers’ death, continue working, and move houses all at the same time. My mother is resilient. She gave me and my brother a good upbringing whilst dealing with some serious problems.

To conclude, my mother is my hero because she has gone through so many tough times, and because she raised me and my brother as a widow. Hopefully one day I can develop my mom's ability to remain strong in tough times.

Interview With My Hero

Q: What do you like about me and why?

A: I like that you come sit with me and we talk, and watch movies together. I like that because your my little mommy’s boy.

Q: Tell me the way you were raised and how it affected the way you raised me?

A: I was spoiled when I was raised, so I try to spoil you. I was raised without electronics, so I most commonly talk face to face.

Q: Why did you get gastric bypass surgery?

A: I got surgery because I want to be here longer for my kids. I wanted to regain my health, and to take less prescriptions.

Q: Who is your role model, and why?

A: My role model is my dad because he raised me to be good. He spoiled me with gifts. And overall he was a sweet, loving, caring father.

Q: What kind of environment did you grow up in?

A: I grew up near the city in the country. Me and my siblings would eat fruits and vegetables from our garden.

Q: What do you enjoy about spending time with your mother?

A: What I like about my mother is that she shows me new things to cook. I like talking with my mother, we can talk about anything. And, I like to play bingo with my mother.
