New York Firefighters

by Lucinda Allen & Pavi-Elle White

They say that heroes can save us and put their life on the line for others. Quite frankly I don't know how they do it. On Septemeber 11th the love of a hero just couldn't do. Hearts were broken as well as the spirit of many Americans.

On the afternoon of September 11th, the city of New York announced that 200 firefighters had been killed and seventy police officers were missing. This is why I believe that they should recieve the upmost recognition even though they haven't finished this journey.

Angels, heroes, and miracle workers are all of the titles that they should and will receive in the hearts of many americans. The firefighters knew that their life could end at anytime in the line of duty. Yet they still took the chance to save complete strangers.

We lost many family members, friends, and people we never even seen before. Even though there gone their spirit still lives on. Firefighters are the people that we sometimes look down on but now they are highly respected. Firefighters are no longer just people who kill fires but people who keeps the hope alive.

To conclude this document we have written a poem in the memory of the NEW YORK FIREFIGHTERS:

The fire no longer has that spark.
Scattered around the streets of N.Y is broken hearts.
A smile no longer on any face.
The spirit is gone without a trace.
But for those who put the fire out.
Deep feeling from the soul they receive without a doubt.
Tears will fall from many American's eyes.
As we get the courage to say good-bye.
R.I.P (Rest In Peace) victims of September 11.
