I was not sure who my hero could be, so I chose my grandfather. One of many reasons he is my hero is that he was part of the police force. He was part of the police for about 25 years. Seven of those years he was a lieutenant. He could have been a captain, but he always turned down that offer because back then captains got fired a lot. After his years on the police force, he joined the coast guard. He worked for the coast guard for about five years. He died because he had a heart attack when he was about 60. We think that one of the reasons he died when he did was because when he was a police officer, he saw a lot of messed up things. Even after he retired he had night terrors until he died. I think that my grandfather is a hero because he did a lot of good doing the jobs he did.
