Childhood is the best moment of life. Childhood is filled with time for playing. Even though we may spend our childhoods playing a lot, we also have to study. Based on that idea, Sandiah Speryono, who is also known as Mrs. Kasur, tries to fill childhood with interesting ways of learning, helping children study without decreasing their time for playing.

All of her life is dedicated for children's education in Indonesia. Mrs. Kasur tries to improve an education method without hurting children's basic instinct to play.

The loyality of Mrs. Kasur to children's education in Indonesia makes her, as an educator, not only a special teacher, but also a mother and friend for children. She is close to children.

Her loyality and love for children started when she, as the oldest of five siblings, had to take care her little brother. Later this task fostered her love for children.

Mrs. Kasur was born in January 1926 to Rr. Bandiah and Santoso Mangoensemito. As a teacher, Mrs. Kasur was never specially trained in education for children. She is self-taught. However, Mrs. Kasur learned a lot from her husband Soerjono. Soerjono, who is well known as Mr. Kasur, also is a teacher.

Mrs.Kasur built some kindergartens in Jakarta in 1965. Because of the sincerity and patience of Mrs. Kasur and Mr. Kasur in educating the children, these kindergartens produced a number of important people, such as Hayono Isman (ex-minister of sport), Ateng, Guruh Soekarno Putra (an artist) and Megawati Soekarno Putra ( the fifth president of Indonesia).

The other contribution from Mrs. Kasur for children's education are the children's songs. She already had composed 20 children songs. The songs have been a legend. They are so special and unique. The lyrics are very simple, happy, funny and easy to remember, but still educating. Throughout the lyrics, Mrs. Kasur teaches values of life, such as affection, care to the others, love, human, discipline, environment, etc.

Aging did not affect the spirit of Mrs. Kasur to develop children's education even further. For the rest of her lifetime, she was still involved with the children's world. Mrs. Kasur died 22 October 2002 when whe was 76 years old.

For me, Mrs. Kasur is the real teacher for children in Indonesia. She created a big impression for everyone, including me. Through her action, she has taught us the values of this life. Her loyalty in her career shoud be adopted by all the people.
