Terry Fox

I'm going to tell you about my favorite hero. His name is Terry Fox.

For me a hero is a person who helps me grow and helps me to overcome.

Born in 1958, Terry Fox didn't have an ordinary life. In 1997 he got the cancer, and after that he had a leg amputation, but he has a prosthesis. After having left the hospital, he decide to run across Canada and raise money for cancer research. He wanted collect $1 from each Canadian citizen.The start took place in St John's on April 12th, 1980. Every day he ran 42 kilometers. The race ended on September 1st, 1980. He finally ran 143 days and 5 373 kilometers and collected 700 million dollars. But he died in June 28th, 1981 from pneumonia.

Terry Fox has many qualities, but his two best are courage and determination.
