Terry Fox is my true hero. When he ran, even though he was tired, you could see hope in his eyes. Maybe you think that he ran for money, but he ran for cancer research, to raise money to save lives. Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada was where Terry Fox was born and raised. His parents were Rolly and Betty Fox. In school, he loved sports. Terry Fox loved running. Terry Fox had so much hope.
Other than the cancer, Terry Fox had a fairly good life. Terry Fox felt good inside and out. For not only did he know that he was doing a good thing, but the world knew it too. This person was admirable for his great kindness and personality.
His achievements were also great. Terry Fox worked very hard to be able to run so well. He had a talent in gym when he was young and he kept it even when he got cancer. Even though he was a great runner, it was very difficult for Terry Fox to run in his marathon of hope. For Terry Fox to be this strong, he had to practice and train. Terry Fox’s mission was to fight his cancer and keep running for cancer research. Terry Fox was a hero for his generosity and his heroes probably were the cancer doctors and researchers. Terry Fox died of cancer, but still lives in our hearts. That is Terry Fox.
Terry Fox worked very hard. He's been honored with his image placed on a Canadian coin. He ran across Canada, despite being an amputee, in what became known as Terry's Marathon of Hope. This raised money for cancer research. Others run in his honor in the annual Terry Fox Run.
I as a child who has three people in her family who have had cancer and who have survived it. I have a few reasons why I picked Terry Fox for my hero. Everyone would say how Terry Fox was a kind man and to me, that is very important. Another reason why he is my hero is that he ran not for money for himself, but only for cancer research. Terry Fox had a mission and that was to save people from cancer, but sadly he died of cancer before he could finish his mission. That is why Terry Fox is my true hero.
