DONATE

Tony Mawer

by Samuel from Burnie, Tasmania in Australia

Tony Mawer, my father, is probably the best father out of any. No, my dad didn’t save a life or invent things, but he does do what you don’t see most dads do: kicking the football with me and driving me to every football game I play in. Along with my mum, my dad supports me and my sister through everything, whether it is netball, cricket, school or footy. My dad works for a living and comes homes to us kids and still has time for us.

Dad would drive me to footy training for state footy and he raised enough money so that I could play for Tasmania. Living in a small town like Rosebery, you find it hard to get numbers to play sports, but every week my dad organizes cricket and football, and goes to work so that our town can have a better environment. My dad got me where I am today. Without him, football would not be my favourite sport and I would not enjoy life as much as I do now. My dad is a hero.
