The saying "the expert in anything was once a beginner" is especially true in the case of Albert Einstein who at the age of three only just began to speak and was not even fluent until he was nine. After working through his difficulties learning, he began to show interests in math and science. His fascination in this field of learning allowed to him to later write three ingenious papers on the Brownian movements, photoelectric effect, and the special theory of relativity ("Albert Einstein" World). Because of the work he did on these papers, he received a Nobel prize in 1921. Throughout his life, he continued to work on the problems in what was known about science at the time and used his adaptations to theories to explore even more of the theoretical world. Beyond his career in the field of science, he was a leader in developing governments in less advanced countries and was even offered the presidency of Israel ("Albert Einstein - Biographical"). Albert Einstein, a brilliant scientist, is a true hero because he was persistent and innovative and changed the way the world viewed physics.

Albert was born in Ulm, Germany on March 14, 1879 and grew up in Munich where his father had an electrical business. His dad went out of business in 1894 and his family had to move to Milan, Italy ("Albert Einstein" World). Albert was left behind to finish his schooling, but was sent home because of how poorly he was doing there. In 1901, he worked at the Swiss Patent Office and worked on his first three scientific papers. Einstein married Mileva Maric in 1903 and they had 2 sons ("Albert Einstein" American). They divorced 14 years later and he married his cousin Elsa the same year as his divorce. They moved to America in the 1930's because of the threat of WWII. During the course of WWII he was recruited to help in the research of the atom bomb so that they could make one before the Germans did. He helped accomplish this in 1939 when he signed a letter to FDR containing the information needed to create the first atom bomb ("Albert Einstein" Encyclopedia). The equation E =mc² was used in the creation of the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima in 1945. He died on April 18, 1955 in Princeton, New Jersey.

Learning persistence from a young age, Albert Einstein used this to help him make discoveries and inspire others. Before learning persistence, Einstein ran into education problems. In high school, "he did so poorly that he was soon asked to leave school. One teacher is reported to have told him 'You will never amount to anything, Einstein'" ("Albert Einstein" World). From that point he picked himself up and learned the value of working hard. His persistence makes him a great role model as he learned to pick himself up, brush the dirt off, and keep on moving forward. Because of his mind set to keep moving forward, "he regarded his major achievements as mere stepping-stones for the next advance" ("Albert Einstein - Biographical"). He sets a good example that success is merely the groundwork for future projects. Einstein's actions also teach that with persistence something great can come from seemingly dead ends. Einstein's persistence makes him a great example to learn from.

Albert Einstein's innovative thinking led him to uncover mysteries of the natural world and use that knowledge to help others. At the beginning of his career, "he produced three papers that are among the most important in twentieth-century physics, and perhaps in all of the recorded history of science, for they revolutionized the way scientists looked at the nature of space, time, and matter" ("Albert Einstein." American). He used what he learned from his experiments and his knowledge to teach others. He helped others learn and gave them opportunities to learn because he knew that someday, they had the potential to be even smarter than he was. As he learned more about the world, the more he realized the importance of learning, which led him to help found the Hebrew University of Jerusalem to further education. Albert Einstein was a pacifist, yet he knew that world war two threatened the lives of many innocents so he protected them by creating the "famous equation E=mc2" which was used "to destroy Hiroshima in 1945" ("Albert Einstein." Encyclopedia). Although a pacifist, he helped the greater good to end World War 2 and protect the innocent by annihilating an entire city. By helping create the atom bomb he was able to prove that knowledge is truly the greatest weapon. Einstein's innovative thinking led to the protection and teaching of the innocent.

His persistent mindset and innovative thinking allowed Albert Einstein to be a great scientist and hero. A great role model to those around him, he was able to inspire many to seek out their passions and persistently search for knowledge. He was also able to protect the lives of many by increasing the known realm and make more possible. Einstein understood the power of belief and imagination when he said "Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid." The quote explains that if a person is asked to do something they can not do, then they will believe they are stupid but if they focus on something they can do they can realize how much they can accomplish. He helped people through positive reinforcement because he had been in the same place as that fish trying to do something he could not. Yet once he realized what he could do, his entire perspective and showed others that what they were trying maybe was not what they were best at. Albert Einstein has inspired me by allowing me to realize what I could become if I stop trying to climb a tree and instead work towards what I am best at. Because he reached out to inspire others and make their lives better he became, in the hearts of many, a true hero.
