"Social media are a catalyst for the advancement of everyone's rights. It's where we're reminded that we're all human and all equal. It's where people can find and fight for a cause, global or local, popular or specialized, even when there are hundreds of miles between them." -Queen Rania of Jordan. For Angelina Jolie this quote could not be more true. Not only is Angelina an actress, she is a director, a goodwill ambassador, she was in UNHCR, and the United Nations Special Envoy. Angelina Jolie is married to another famous actor, Brad Pitt. They have 6 kids, three in which are adopted. Angelina became a devoted humanitarian, and later on became a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nation. Being an ambassador she still continued her work and traveled to help people. Not only is Angelina Jolie an Oscar-winning actress, professional model, she is also is a humanitarian spokesperson. On top of all that, a mother to 6 children. Angelina is apart of over 20 foundations, the most well-known ones are the UNHCR, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, and Human Rights Watch. She also supports over 20 cases including: abuse, rape/sexual abuse, hunger, slavery, refugees, and many more. A hero is not necessarily someone whom is perfect, nor is it someone who saves everyone. A hero may only make a difference in few peoples lives, but they are still a hero. Angelina is selfless, kind, and brave making a difference in the world.

Being selfless takes a lot, there are many ways to show that you are. As new parents they used their famous kids to fund the foundations, specifically the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation. "When Brad and Angelina's twins, Knox and Vivienne, were born the couple sold the first images of the babies to People and Hello! for $14 million, using the entire amount to help fund the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation."(Marie Claire) Not only Angelina, but her husband also donated money. Instead of keeping it all for themselves, they give away millions for the less fortunate. Angelina was also selfless when she not only joined more foundations, but also donating her own money in order to help. "The Special Envoy's commitment to the organization is further demonstrated through her donations to UNHCR, amounting to more than US$5 million since 2001."(UNHCR) Jolie is not only donating thousands of dollars to charity, but millions. Not everyone with her kind of fame would be generous enough to donate that much money, let alone any. From the beginning Angelina has shown how selfless she is, and continues to give her time and money away for a better cause.

Angelina is not only talented and beautiful, she is also kind in every aspect of life. Throughout her life, she's been in movies and directed them, but that's not all she does. Angelina Jolie gives most of her time into helping people, bringing kindness and caring back. She's brought attention to the world problem and helped the less fortunate to a better life without anyone asking her to. Her kindness has made a difference for people who had almost nothing, and brought them happiness and hope. "Angelina, on the whole, has focused her attention on refugees and people who have been displaced due to conflict."(Marie Claire)  It takes a lot for a person to care for people they don't know. Jolie has been able to help people around the world. Even with her social class, she is kind to everyone. Even refugees and less fortunate people. People who grow up with money don't pay much attention to people with less money or people who don't amount to much. Angelina Jolie's status didn't stop her from making a difference in the world and helping other people in need. "Being a star she never laid back watching her status, but took the responsibility to give back to the people and hence took up the charity and from day one addressed the above issues and worked on spreading awareness among the people about those issues."(World Relief Fund) Despite being one of the most famous people currently, Angelina has never let that get in the way of helping people. Instead of spending money on glamorous things, she spends it on others and putting a smile on peoples faces. Angelina is remarkable, throughout her journey on making the world a better her place, no one ever forced her to do what she does, everything was out of the kindness of her heart.

Being brave doesn't always have to do with killing or protecting people, it can also be putting your own life at risk for other people. When Angelina goes into countries that America is at war with she is constantly putting her life at risk. A lot of third-world countries that Angelina has been to doesn't support in education for women or equality for women, and women are looked down upon, her life is in danger in these places. But, she goes to help other people. "Since being appointed as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, Angelina has visited over 30 countries and even risked her life. On a recent trip to Afghanistan she revealed that she had written a farewell letter to Brad Pitt after being warned she was a target for attack. Two weeks after she arrived home a UN bunker was attacked and everyone inside it was killed."(Marie Claire) Looking past the obvious threats and dangers, Jolie puts her life in danger too make a difference in the world. Being one of the most famous people in the world, she doesn't need to be worried about poverty. Despite all the risks, she still helps and brings attention to poverty-stricken countries. "The funds have gone towards building schools - in locations such as Kenya and Afghanistan - as well as other initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the forcibly displaced."(UNHCR) In certain places, girls are not aloud to go to school or girls going to school is strongly disapproved. Education in general in some places is disapproved. Building a school in places such as that is dangerous and it takes someone brave and willing to take the risk. In life, being brave for other people is hard. It's hard to willingly risk your life for people, but in the end it's worth it. Angelina is strong and brave with all her actions.

Angelina Jolie is a person who was raised in a house filled with paparazzi, fame, and fortune. She used all her wealthiness to make a difference in other peoples lives, she is selfless, kind, and brave. Not only has she won a handful of awards, but she has been donating millions of dollars to charities and organizations. She's opened schools, she's helped refugees, and she's changed lives for many people around the world. Angelina is inspiring because of the things she does, not for herself, but for other people. Instead of using fame  for other things, she uses it to raise awareness on bigger things and brings attention to what the real world is like. Angelina is still going on with her works, she is still traveling to see and help poor countries. She shows people that little things can make a huge difference, and to always look at the bigger picture. She is inspiring because she is able to do so much work as one person. Her ability to cope with all the pressure and hard work that comes with what she does is inspiring. It's hard for most people to have seen all the sad, poverty-stricken places. Heroes are everywhere, constantly making a difference in the world little by little and Angelina Jolie is one of those great heroes.
