Anne Frank

by Tayler from Sydney

Everyone has a voice, some choose to be silent, and others choose to speak. Anne Frank choose to use her voice to change the way we look at life for those who struggled during a time of great fear. For this she glistens with heroism. With her style of attentive writing, her optimism that makes everyone feel safe and her thirst for knowledge Anne Frank is a hero.

Anne had amazing writing skills. She wrote in a way that separated her from childish little girl to mature young woman. Her honesty as to what was happening around her was conveyed in the way she wrote on a regular basis. She was very attentive to the events that circled her life and put that attention to detail into her writing. Her style and quality of writing was beyond her years.

Anne Frank was a very optimistic girl. She believed that everyone had some good in them no matter how bad they were. She thought that her family would stick it out to the end of the war and survive. Also no matter how bad it got in the annex or however high the tension went, she was convinced that all the problems would work themselves out.

Anne had an extreme thirst for knowledge. Before going into hiding Anne was enrolled in a Montessori school. While in hiding, Miep, one of the very few people the Franks trusted, supplied Anne and her sister Margot with many different subject books to study. Anne spent most of her time studying algebra and Latin. She enjoyed reading and writing in her diary and read many books during the time they were hiding with the encouragement of her parents. Anne’s thirst for knowledge motivated her to keep up her studies; her writings show her high level of intelligence.

Anne choose to use her great voice to change the way we look at life for those who struggled during a time of great fear. With her style of detailed writing, her optimism that made everyone feel safe and her thirst for knowledge, her writing has stood the test of time.

Anne wrote with a maturity beyond her years. This was evident in the detailed attention she paid to her writing. It was honest, but also filled with optimism for the future. She believed that her optimism would win out over her situation in the annex and that everything would work out for the best. With so much hope for her future she maintained her studies, which was encouraged by her parents. She wrote on a regular basis and hoped her writings would be a record of her ordeal for future readers. Would you have had such belief in a safe future that you would be so attentive to writing in your diary?
