Dwight D, Eisenhower

Do you know what a hero is? A hero is a person who helps people. A hero could fight in a war, or discover something that will change the world. My hero is a person named Dwight D.Eisenhower.

Dwight D. Eisenhower was born on October 14th, 1890, in Denison, Texas. He went to the United States Military Academy for his education. When World War II broke out, he was named the Supreme Commander of Europe. He commanded the D- Day invasion of France in 1944 and after World War II, he became the President of Columbia University. Soon, he took command of NATO forces in 1951. In 1952, Republicans persuaded him to run for president. He got a lot of votes and won. While he was president, he had peace relations with Russia and held conferences with French, British, and Russian leaders about nuclear weapons. In 1955, he started to have heart attacks. He survived his first heart attack. Eisenhower left the office in 1961 and died of an illness in Washington D.C. in 1969.

Dwight D. Eisenhower is my hero because he helped win World War II and he helped keep world peace. That’s why Dwight D. Eisenhower is my hero.
