I first became aware of Aubrey Drake Graham when I was searching for new music online. I really loved his lyrics and got extremely interested. He isn’t a rapper who just raps about money and girls, but about life and things that actually matter in society. What attracts me to Drake is his style and his approach to life. He loves what he does for a living. He takes life as it comes, and isn't insolent like many famous people. I would like to approach life like Drake's by doing what I love, and working hard to get there.

In the music industry, you need to be willing to take risks and be relevant to your audience. This career requires a high school diploma and vocal/acting school training. An example of such a school is the New York Film Academy. The pay of singers and actors depends on where they work, who they work for, and how famous they are, but it typically ranges from $16,750 to $107,280 according to ..(cite your source here.) The main earnings of singers and rappers comes from the albums they sell, and how many people go to their concerts. Drake, for example, usually gets paid $6-7 per album and $150,000 per concert. There are many venues in but many singers also have extensive touring engagements. Posting videos on Youtube doesn’t pay directly, but helps them become more well known.

Drake displayed many traits that pointed to his later success. He was in school plays, and as involved as possible. He grew up in Toronto, Canada and went to Forest Hill Collegiate Institute, but dropped out at 17 to complete his work on the television show Degrassi: The Next Generation. While he was still in school he formed a rap group with a couple of When he left the group, he was inspired to start making his own mix tapes, and putting them up on Myspace, By chance he caught attention of Lil' Wayne (Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) in 2009 who came across his music, and wanted to sign him to Young Money Records. Although Drake did not graduate high school, he opens all his concerts by encouraging his young audience to stay in school, and follow their hearts.

Drake’s career helps others and contributes to society in many ways. He shows that you don't need to be the smartest person out there to be successful, and that if you follow your heart, you'll most likely be successful. He puts his personal life into his music to show that just because he has fame and money, it doesn't mean he's not a normal person. An example on his success is when his acting career first started taking off in 2001, he had played the role of Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation. During 2006-08 he knew he wanted to be in the music industry more than anything, so he started write music and sing, and post the music on Myspace so people could listen to it. Drake’s main contribution to society is his music.

Although my goal isn't to be a singer I do want to be like my personal career hero, Drake. I'm not sure what I want to do yet when I grow up but, like Drake, I want to follow my heart. I probably won’t be famous or have endless amounts of money, but I do want to be happy with what I'm doing, and not dread going to work each day. I am determined to graduate high school and go to college, but I'm not sure what I want to major in. I'm considering politics or medicine. Like Drake, I want to touch the lives of others and make a positive difference in the world.
