Alexander Pokryshkin was born February 21 in a family of Siberian carpenters. He was born near Novosibirsk. From his childhood he dreamed of becoming a pilot. This dream was difficult to fulfill, but he managed it (the dream). The family had 5 children (including Alexander), 3 younger brothers and a sister. They lived in poverty. His father disapproved of the pilot dream, but Alexander dreamed that he grew up and contributed to the family budget in striving to become a pilot. This helped Alexander Pokryshkin overcome the negative traits of his character.
