Chris Gardner
Chris Gardner

A boy lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He grew up in poverty and domestic violence. His name is Christopher Gardner and he became a very successful and generous man. I was watching the Pursuit of Happyness one night and thought that his story was amazing. Chris Gardner is very inspiring to every one he meets and people who have heard his story. Being raised in poverty and entering it again during adulthood has made him very compassionate to others that are walking in the shoes he did years ago. He is very persistent in what he believed in. When he was homeless he fought hard to keep his son and succeed. Chris Gardner has many heroic attributes and values.

Chris Gardner is now a millionaire but is very humbled by his childhood and early adult life. He grew up in poverty and domestic violence. Right after high school he joined the U.S. Navy. He wanted to obtain a better and job and was very interested in economics, but had no college degree. Then Chris got married and had a son. He signed up for a very low pay internship at Dean Witter Reynolds thinking that his wife's income would be enough would be enough to support them but his wife left. He became homeless and still fought to keep his son. When Chris was little he decided that his kids would know him and that's what kept him going. Being homeless forced Chris to find homeless shelters to sleep in each night. To get the new job, he needed to pass a test and he needed to study. Later he earned a job at Bear Sterns & Co. Once he got going he started a business from home with only $10,000. He named his business Gardner Rich. Recently he made a multi million dollar deal involving his business. Chris's early life helped him become who is he today.

Mr. Gardner uses a lot of his money to help children who are living in poverty like he did. His main goal is to improve children's well being across America and the world. In 2002 he earned the Father of the Year Award. He is also on the National Father Initiative board too. Including winning the father of the year award he sponsors 2 other national awards. Gardner also funds another project to build houses for low-income families in a historically poor area of San Francisco. Chris Gardner has helped lift up the lives of many unfortunate families.
