Jackie's Family (http://www.jackiechan.com/ about_jackie/about_jackie.html) |
Jackie Chan's life started in a most unusual way. Jackie Chan weighed twelve pounds and his mom needed a cesarean. This operation was too expensive for his family to afford. Luckily, some of their friends raised enough money to pay for the operation and, on April 7th, 1954, he was born in the city of Hong Kong. He was named Chan Kong-sang, which means "Born in Hong Kong."

When he was six years old, his family moved to Australia because his dad had a better job offer as a cook for an Australian Embassy. While there, Jackie did poorly in school so his parents sent him back to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, he attended Peking Opera School. During his stay, he learned martial arts and stayed there until he was seventeen years old.

He is my hero because he donates his time and money to charity. He also is my hero because he donates many items to the elderly, homeless, and children in need such as: blankets, winter coats, and winter clothes. He has helped the country I live in by helping homeless people off the street.
