Robert Gordon Orr

Bobby Orr was born on March 20th in Parry Sound, Ontario. He has a father that died named Doug Orr, two sisters named Pat and Perry and two Brothers named Ron and Doug. He has a wife named Peggy and a son named Darren. Bobby Orr went to Parry Sound High School and he also went to a high school in Oshawa. He enjoys golf and started the Orr Walton Sports Camp. He was a hockey agent. He is involved in charities, fundraisers and he played hockey.

Bobby started playing hockey for the Boston Bruins as an eighteen year-old in 1966. Bobby Orr sadly had knee injuries and his career ended in the 1978-79 season with the Black Hawks. Bobby Orr had fourteen knee operations. Bobby Orr wanted to play hockey so Doug Orr inspired him to play. Bucko McDonald also inspired Bobby because he was Bobby's first coach and Bucko also played hockey. Bobby's hero was Terry Harper who was defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens.

Bobby Orr inspired kids not to sit on the couch and watch television, but to go outside and play games and even play sports like hockey. Bobby Orr had a lot of fame and he used his fame to help others.

Bobby Orr had very bad knee injuries but that did not stop him from playing hockey with the Chicago Black Hawks. He never recieved a pay cheque from Chicago. His knee injuries eventually ended his career, it ended in the 1978-79 season.

I have heard that Bobby Orr was an amazing defenseman and that he always rushed up the ice to shoot on the net. That is how he inspired me to be defense and rush to the net. There is one moment that I will never forget. That was when he was tripped by a St.Louis player and scored a goal in the air to win the Stanley Cup!
