A hero is someone who inspires you and who is a good role model. The hero we chose is Selena Gomez. Selena is an actress and a great singer. She was born in New York on July 22nd 1992. Her mom’s name is Mandy Teefy, and she is Italian. On the other side, her dad’s name is Ricardo Gomez, and he is Mexican. Selena’s parents are now divorced.

Selena is our hero because she is part of a group called Friends for Change. She is also our hero because she is independent and still going strong. Friends For Change is a program of Disney Stars coming together and helping the Earth by reducing, reusing and recycling. Selena tries to spend her time spreading the word about Friends For Change.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato (disneysociety.com)

Selena is an only child. When Selena was little, her family moved to Grand Prairie, Texas. Now she lives in Encino, California. Selena and her best friend Demetria (Demi) Devonno Lovato made both of their dreams together. Now they’re actresses. Selena Gomez is the star of her show called Wizard of Waverly Place on the Disney Channel. She acts as Alex Russo.

Wizards of Waverly Place (kidstvmovies.about.com)

Selena started acting when she was 12 years old on Barney. Selena was in lots of shows and movies such as Wizard of Waverly Place, Barney, Suite Life on Deck, Sonny with a Chance, Another Cinderella Story, Princess Protection Program, Disney Channel Games, and much more. Because she is a talented actress, she’s in a lot of shows and movies.

Now you know how and why Selena is our hero. We hope you liked our essay and decide to watch some of Selena Gomez’s shows.
