Thomas Jefferson

by Gillian from Quakertown, New Jersey, United States

"I believe that every human mind feels pleasure in doing good for another"

My hero is Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson is my hero because he has done so much for the United States. He has written the Declaration of Independence and has been the fourth president of the United States of America. Jefferson has inspired so many people with his wonderful talents. He has done so many good deeds for America.

To me a hero is someone who is kind, helping, and very inspiring. To me that is all what Thomas is. He was very kind to all people. He helped people by inventing new things that made life easier. I do not know who would say he is not inspiring because he is very inspiring to me.

Even though Thomas Jefferson was tall and awkward looking he invented a lot of things to make life easier. Here are some things he invented: dumbwaiter for wine bottles, the great clock, the hideaway bed, a macaroni extruding device, the pedometer, the polygraph, the revolving bookcase, a spherical sundial, an improved swivel chair, a wheel chair, and not to mention, macaroni and cheese.

Thomas Jefferson is my hero because he has done great things for our homeland in America. If it were not for Thomas Jefferson, everyone in America would not have the freedom they have now. That is my hero. Who is yours? Maybe it is Thomas Jefferson because I just told you how great he is and what he has done for many people's homeland, America.
