Dion grew up living in Edmonton, Alberta and his birthday is April 10th, 1985. Dion's mom and dad are both still alive. Dion shoots left-handed with a 1 million mile per hour slap shot! Dion Phaneuf is 6 foot 2 inches and 213 pounds. Dion loves to coach his younger brother in hockey. Dion likes to golf in the summer time. Dion likes to do woodcrafting. Dion graduated from Red Deer College. He liked math, science and social!

What is a hero to me? A hero to me is someone who is very nice, caring and sometimes inspiring! Dion Phaneuf is a great person to be around! Dion Phaneuf is in the NHL and he was drafted by the Calgary Flames. Dion Phaneuf is very encouraging and works hard day in and day out and kids watching him should learn A LOT! Dion Phaneuf is a very rare fighter and does not retaliate but he still finds a way to keep people from hacking at Kiprusoff and Boucher. Dion Phaneuf rarely takes penalties. His dad encouraged him to play hockey. I think that a hero could be a celebrity or just someone in your family. My hero is alive and heathly playing for the Calgary Flames! Dion Phaneuf is a defenceman for the Calgary Flames. Dion Phaneuf is jail-free and has no criminal record.

Dion Phaneuf has not won any NHL awards only because he is a rookie but this year he is in the running for rookie of the year and best defenceman which is also called the Norris Trophy. I am sure though that his room at home is full of trophies and ribbons from his younger years. Dion also has played for Team Canada in the World Juniors. In my opinion he should win the Norris Trophy because he is not only good on the ice, he is also a great goal scorer and plays the powerplay and gets a lot of assists.

I don't think Dion Phaneuf is a hero just because he is a hockey player. He also helps children at the Alberta Children's Hospital at Christmas and Birthdays. Dion Phaneuf has played 57 games and has 14 goals and 23 assists for a total of 37 points and 131 shots just at the Olympic break. Dion Phaneuf is a great passer, a great goal scorer and a great playmaker, plus he passes the puck nice and hard. On the powerplay he feathers his passes to Andrew Ference so he can wire it.

Dion Phaneuf is a great athlete with lots of talent and great vision on the ice! Dion loves to play the game hockey. Dion likes to be in the dressing room with the Calgary Flames.
