A hero is someone that doesn’t let their accomplishments get them in an arrogant mood. A hero is someone that does what they do because they enjoy doing it, not because they are in it for the money or fame. A hero is someone that cares about their fans (like a movie actor as an example). This is my hero.

Jeremy Robert Myron Sumpter born February 5th, 1989 in Monterey California is a young movie actor. He is fifteen years old and has already made 4 movies and starred in many TV shows. Even though Jeremy is so young that is why I admire him and that leads to why he is my hero. At the age of six he was the youngest boy to be accepted in the Gifted Arts Program in Sterling Kentucky, where he lived. He then went to a modeling show were he won the best young male model award and was then signed to a agency which started his movie making career.

Jeremy starred in a huge part in the movie Peter Pan. Jeremy is the first boy to ever play the part for a live audience in December 2003. Of course everyone knows the story of Peter Pan. The boy that never grows up and lives in Neverland with the Lost boys. After this movie Jeremy’s popularity scale skyrocketed; and being the first boy to ever play the part as the boy was flying high in this news as you might say. Jeremy told a reporter at the LA Premiere of Peter Pan that “Being the first boy to ever play part was a huge position that I took. I knew that it was a big jump for the entertainment agencies; but I never once thought about taking that in another direction as in going around and acting arrogant about the part. I thought, ‘hey i'm the first boy to ever play this part, that pretty cool’ but it didn’t change the way I am at all.”

At the premiere if his movie Local Boys a reporter caught up with him as asked “Do you love hearing the people yell and scream out your name?” Jeremy’s reply to this was “I'm not to enthusiastic about having people screaming my name. I just love to make movies because they are fun. I don’t care if people like them or hate them, I just like making them!”

Jeremy’s goals for his future acting career are to keep making movies. He says that he might go to college but if he says he would rather make movies and surf all day long with his dad.

I myself was very happy to hear to that because most movie stars get so arrogant over a part they got that I think it make s them look bad. I think that it is an even bigger accomplishment for the younger stars because they are so new to the entire movie making business. Jeremy is a hero to me because he never lets silly things get in the way of what he likes to do; make movies.
