Alexander Fleming: Discoverer of Penicillin

In 1928, bacteriologist Alexander Fleming noticed a light-blue mold growing on a culture dish in his London laboratory. This discovery led to the development of the first antibiotic, penicillin, which saved countless lives. It also earned Fleming a Nobel prize.
