2/3 of this earth is water and water is a life source for being alive. There are no living beings which do not require water on this earth. There are many benefits which we can use from water, starting from cleaning, cooking, taking a bath and drinking. Even making buildings uses water.

The most important benefit is for us is to drink. Human beings can survive, even feeling hungry, for more than two weeks, but human beings cannot survive without water for more than three/four days. More human beings will suffer dehydration and will die if he/she does not drink. That is why water is required by human beings. We are obliged to drink seven glasses everyday so that the dirt in our bodies go out through sweat or urine.

But many people are still lacking water, especially in areas which are far from water sources. They only can get the water when it rains. In summer, they dig wells to look for water. They also use water from rivers, although that water is often dirty. They use it for their daily use so that many people have incurred a disease.

I can't imagine if in this world there is no water. Maybe, all of the people in this world will die. Therefore, let us take care of water in order that it can fulfill our needs in our life so that no more people who lack water in this world will die or become ill. Because I am sure, there is no human being who can live without water.

Some wonderful heroes who are doing something about providing clean water to those who need it are Ryan Hreljac and Healing Waters. Read their stories below...

About the photograph of WATER:

Images of water drops are all over the internet...Pshorten writes in his flickr space:
I thought this was going to be really easy but it has it's difficulties. Getting color to show up was a challenge as well as focusing perfectly. I had maybe one shoot in ten that was any good at all but it was fun and I learned a lot about my close-up ring.

Our setup was a big clear bowl of water, a sheet of brightly colored paper behind it and our off-camera flash pointed at the paper from camera left. I used a close-up ring between the camera and the lens and that did a great job of pulling the drops in close. I set my camera flash to TTL and used an f-stop around 16 or so....something deep-ish to get both sides of the splash, ISO 200, shutter speed 1/180th.

Things I will do differently next time:

I'd use a black bowl, curious what effect that would give...I'm on the look out for salad bowl now and when I find it, I'll try again!

Another thing I want to do is put something (a strawberry?) under the droplet...we didn't have time for that.

I think milk drops or oil drops might be fun.

Dropping food coloring in should be interesting, too.
