Heroes of Gillum's Class 2017

Often, the most profound heroes in our lives are the family and friends we interact with every day.

For students who chose family heroes, they have gained a deeper relationship with family and a greater appreciation for the sacrifices that so many have made for them. The hero interviews open a door for family members to share with each other. This is always a highlight of the projects for a teacher to have the honor of witnessing. Students who chose heroes outside of their personal circle found inspiration in how people they respect have changed the world. In a world so quickly changing, we find a solid foundation to build on in the heroes that guide and inspire us.
