Granville Sharp (b. 1735 - d. 1813) was one of the first English abolitionists. He came up with the plan to to re-settle freed slaves in Sierra Leone in the mid-1780s. In 1787, Sharp and Thomas Clar.kson founded the Society for the Abolition of the Slave Trade, and worked to abolish slavery completely in England.
