love stories

Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no; it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love is not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come.
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

--William Shakespeare Sonnet CXVI

Dorothy and William have been together for almost fifty years and they paid tribute to each other in the MY HERO guestbook.

photo of Dot and Bill William from Florida wrote, "Dorothy is my hero. My Dorothy can do anything she sets her mind to do. She has been my faithful companion for over forty-nine years and for this she deserves the medal of honor. On our fiftieth anniversary the Governor of Illinois is going to give her a reprieve. She is a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her friends and family are always in her mind and she is loved by them all".

photo of Jennifer Kurtz Jennifer Kurtz from Pennsylvania wrote, "My grammy is respectful and strong. Two years ago she almost lost her leg when she had a bad artery in her heart. They had to take a vein from her leg and put it in her heart. Unfortunately the wound did not heal because she is a diabetic. My grammy helps the people that live by her in her apartment by taking them to the doctor or to the supermarket. She keeps in touch with her family and always makes sure there is peace in the family."

photo of Nercy Jafari Nercy Jafari is a hero to his daughter Sarah Jafari from Pennsylvania.

One reason he is my hero is because he always donates his time and effort to help the well being of others through his work. photo of Sarah Jafari He works long hours and sometimes works all night in the emergency room. He is also giving by doing many things for other members of the family. He drives me wherever I need to go, and helps everyone with their schoolwork. Another reason my dad is a hero is because he is kind. He always lends a helping hand not only to his immediate family, but his brothers, sisters and parents. He provides for his parents, and helps them with everything they need. My dad is always kind to everyone. These are some of the reasons I consider my Dad a hero.

Kelly from Goshen, Indiana writes to her true love, Brady Burton:

Well sweetie...I don't know if you always know this but, I truly love you more than anything! You are what I hold dear to me. You asked what is at the bottom of my heart...well, you are to be honest!! I know sometimes I don't show it but you truly are the best gift I have ever received.

My hero is my grandfather. Although he died when I wasn't born yet, I can see him in pictures. I know that he was very kind and friendly. I know about him from my grandmother and he always gave clothes to the poor people and tried to help people answer questions.
