Daniel Liang

by Michelle from Georgia

My hero is named Daniel Liang but I call him father. I have known him since I was born. He was born in China and came here for college. He is in his forties right now. He is hardworking and caring. He is a professor at a college and writes Java books. He has two children and a wife.

I see my father as a hero in many different ways. He tells me that you can be smart, but you also need to be hardworking to accomplish the things in life in order to succeed. My father also helps me improve my math. In the car he will ask me a math question and to divide mentally when I have nothing to do. My father is also hardworking because he knows he needs to make money so my mother can go buy the food in order for us to survive. He can also give my brother and me an education. I am very fortunate to have an education because many people in the world don’t really have one.

My hero doesn’t have many things in common with an ancient Greek hero. My father is not strong like Hercules. My father and an ancient Greek hero have one thing in common, and that is they are hardworking. An ancient Greek hero had to be hardworking to accomplish the quests. My father is wise but ancient Greek heroes weren’t that wise in the myths I read. Even if my father isn’t strong, he is still a hero in my eyes for the things he does.
