Oasis

by Evan from St. Angela High School, Bandung

Hello, I’m Evan! Let me tell you about my idols. They are not just ordinary idols, but I consider them as my heroes. They are called Oasis.

Oasis come from Manchester, England, and they are the greatest band in the world I think. There are some reasons why I consider them as my heroes. They are always there in my daily life. When I prepare to go to school, I listen to their British Rock music. It ignites my “sleeping” spirits for the busied tiring confusing school. On the way from home to school, I play their music on my car’s tape so the journey to the place called school is not boring. On my school time, I sometimes sing their songs; without a loud voice of course, or my friends will pass out. I just sing them for myself when I’m confused by the school tasks, exams, and the other things which are really confusing and annoying. When I’m on the way back to my home sweet home, I also listen to Oasis to refresh my brain and my mind. After the lunch, I take some rest in my bedroom; lay on the bed and of course listen to Oasis’ songs. I listen to the songs and let them run through my veins, sometimes until I get sleep and do some adventures in my dream so my body gets refreshed. In the evening, I do my homework and some school tasks with Oasis’ songs to accompany me. And then at night, when I go to sleep, once again Oasis lets me enter the dream world where everything is possible there.

Besides that, Oasis gives me some inspirations in music, inspiration to improve my music skill and to write some songs. Not just that, they also inspire my life. Each word in their song lyrics more or less influences my life and sometimes some cases or events in my daily activities can be connected to the lyrics. Oasis is so cool! Thank you so much Oasis, especially for Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher, you are the best!!!
