Terrell Davis had a tough childhood, but turned out to be a football legend! Terrell Davis is a hero because he never gave up when people told him he couldn't do it. Also, he struggled from migraines that caused him to go blind for almost a few hours or maybe even a day! The only thing that made him feel better was when he locked himself up in his room in the darkness. This is why Terrell is a hero!
Terrell had a rough childhood. He was born in San Diego, California on October 28th 1972. Terrell's dad Joe, spent most of his life in jail, because he stole items that didn't belong to him such as stereos and televisions. Soon enough, Terrell's parents got a divorce. Terrell and his three younger brothers lived with his dad on the weekdays and his mom's on the weekends. "Living with my pops and my brothers, I saw guns often, and it seemed like a routine seeing the ice cream truck,'' Terrell says. One day when Terrell was playing baseball with his brothers, when Terrell's Aunt picked them up and took them to the hospital. Kateree (Terrell's mom) was crying because Joe Had died. Joe had been suffering from lupus disease for years but never took his medication. Terrell had a very rough childhood but didn't let it take over.
Terrell had a lot of challenges and obstacles. One challenge was losing his best friend Jumaul from a gambling argument. Jumaul was a great friend. He helped Terrell follow his dreams and never give up. Another challenge or obstacle was after Joe Davis died, Terrell hit rock bottom. Terrell stopped caring, and stopped playing football, instead, he spent his days meeting up with gangs and drug dealers. For two years, Terrell's mom watched helplessly as Terrell slipped away! Before Joe's passing, Terrell was an excellent student. Now he began skipping school. Soon he decided to make up for all of his F's. Terrell applied for and received a transfer to Lincoln Prep Academy. Terrell had many challenges but struggled through them.
Terrell Davis has lots of accomplishments. Here are some. From 1991-1994, Terrell had a total of 372 rushes. Terrell ran 1,919 yards, had fifty catches, and scored twenty one TD's! He also made it to the NFL. In the NFL scouting, Terrell ran the forty yards in 4.7 seconds. Terrell's team, the Broncos, won the super bowl back to back. He also had lots of football achievements. People told Terrell that he couldn't do it but Terrell stayed focus and didn't listen to downers. Also, as I said, he got migraines and couldn't see, but he didn't let them get to him. When the scouts for the NFL came to watch Terrell and his teammates, Terrell Barely made the NFL, but he realized he wasn't the best one so he practiced, practiced and practiced.
