Hero Essay
My mother Amanda Carter is an amazing woman. My mother and my father split up around the same time my twin sister and I were born. She is an inspirational woman, who is very easy to look up to. My mom is a woman who strives day in and day out to provide for three children on her own. She is someone who inspires me to work for everything I want in life. Admiring my mom has opened up the reality of things because whatever my mom wants, whether it is to provide for her children, provide for herself or anything else she wants in life, my mom does whatever it takes to make it happen.
She is a very strong woman who has overcome the odds of her being a single parent for the past 17 years. Many people do not believe a single mom could be as successful as she is in raising 3 children on her own, but she has proven them wrong every step of the way. She has overcome every single obstacle possible that has been thrown at her. During her process of overcoming each obstacle my mom remained confident and strong each and every step of the way.
The duties of parenting are arduous and difficult. There may not be any other responsibility that requires as much time, patience, learning, sacrifice, and other such as parenting does. Having a spouse or partner to assist in the upbringing of children certainly eases the weight of parenting. But my mother has done it without having a spouse or partner majority of her upbringing of her three children. She has sacrificed pretty much everything she had going on in her life before having children. For example my mother was enrolled in college to become a nurse before having to drop out of college to be able to support my twin sister, younger brother and I.
Growing up as a child we never thought of these types of people being a hero in our eyes, but my mom has clearly been a great hero throughout my life. She is a very hardworking woman who, if given the opportunity and capability of working 24 hours a day to provide for her family, she would take it. She has the drive and determination to do whatever it takes to provide and give the best for her children. Sacrificing everything you have going on for yourself to provide for a family on your own is something that takes a lot of courage and responsibility to do, and my mom has done that without any regret or second thoughts. Everyone has someone they look up to in their life as being their hero, and I could easily say Amanda Carter has been my hero throughout my life!
