My hero is Amelia Earhart. A few of her achievements were; first girl to fly over the Atlantic, was elected as an official for National Aeronautic Association and encouraged the Federation Aeronautic International (FAI) to establish world altitude, speed, and endurance records for women, and became vice president for new airline, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington Airways. She showed kids all over the world to never to give up and to follow your dreams no matter how crazy they may seem.

Amelia was born on July 24th, 1897 in Atchison, Kansas. She went missing on July 2nd, 1937 by the Pacific Ocean and was officially declared dead on July 5th, 1937 even though her remains were not found, and nobody was sure how she died. Many said it was a plane crash. People are baffled by her mysterious disappearance.

Amelia Earhart is important to me because she taught me courage, perseverance, and to follow my dreams. She has made difference in my life by saying this one quote that I interpreted as meaningful and learned from it. “Women must try to do things as men have tried. When they fail their failure must be but a challenge to others.”
