Amelia Mary Earhart is an American aviation pioneer. She was born on July 24,1897 in Atchison, Kansas. She had a decent family, but growing up she went through family issues. Her dad was an alcoholic, being the reason why her family had a lot of problems and fighting. Amelia didn't have love for flying right away, she actually thought airplanes were "useless and ugly." It wasn't until age 10, when her father took her to the Iowa State Fair and she saw her first aircraft, right then and there, she fell in love and wanted to fly.

Amelia is a very accomplished individual from her lifetime. She is mostly famous for the first person, and women to fly across the Atlantic Ocean by herself. Earhart also set many aviation records, sometimes she even beat male records. After Amelia's last flight before she disappeared, was when she really started getting famous. No one knows exactly what happened to her, however people know that she disappeared on July 2, 1937, somewhere in the Pacific Ocean on the way to Howland Island.

Earhart's last flight took place in June of 1927, at Miami. She took off for the first 21 days with Fred Noonan, and after she started flying solo. She was trying to attempt going across the Atlantic Ocean nonstop, which was 5 years after Lindbergh flight across the Atlantic Ocean, so she was known to repeat it. However, she went through some difficulties along the way. Earhart suffered engine and technical difficulties with the plane which caused her to delay her trip. But on July 2, she finally got to start her voyage solo.

Earhart started her famous flight on July 2, 1937. First, she started her voyage trip with Fred Noonan, then they separated before she was going to go over the Atlantic Ocean on her own. However, their was problems communicating between Amelia and Fred, so she couldn't get in any information with them if their was something wrong. Then, a problem sparked up, but nobody knows what happened, and where Amelia went. But Amelia disappeared out of the blue, and until this day, nobody knows exactly what happened to her, there are ideas but no one could prove them.

Amelia Earhart is my hero because she inspires me to do things people wouldn't even think about doing. She kinda started a revolution that made women feel like they could do whatever they dreamed of doing. It made us women, have faith in doing things "men could only do." She really loved flying, and died for what she was famous for, which was her last flight. She gives me inspiration to do things people wouldn't agree with, and to not mind other people's opinions when it comes to doing something that I love the most. I dream one day to find my own calling, and accomplish really well it in, no matter what people say.
