Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was one of the greatest scientists in the entire world. He wrote many papers and books about science. I chose him for that reason and because he was and extremely smart. His most famous theory is E = mc2 on nuclear fission. He was also a little bit political. He influenced many events in our history. He even once tried to stop Adolf Hitler politically by making speeches to tell him to stop. Also he won the Nobel in physics. Now in the following text I will talk about Einstein's life.

Einstein was born on March 14, 1879. When he was a child he attended a Catholic elementary school. In this Catholic school when he was five he had speaking problems but excelled in math. His father showed him a compass at this age too. Einstein was intrigued. After he graduated the Catholic school he attended the Luitpold Gymnasium. At the age of eleven he was studying college level physics at the Luitpold Gymnasium and was doing extremely well in math too since physics is based on mathematics. After he graduated he did not attend high school but tried to apply to a college immediately.

Since he didn’t have a high school graduation certificate he had to take the exam to see if he was good enough to enroll. However he failed this exam and was turned down from the college, ETH Zurich. He and his family moved to Aarau, Switzerland to let Einstein finish secondary school. It was also the time when he performed his first thought experiment about traveling along a beam of light. After that he finally got enrolled at ETH Zurich.

He first tried to take a job as a teacher for physics. After two years of unsuccessful searching, one of his colleagues helped him get a job at the Patent Office. While he was at the Patent Office he published four scientific papers called the Annus Mirabilis papers. They were on the photoelectric effect, the Brownian motion theory, the electrodynamics of a moving body and the well known E = mc2. After he quit the patent office he accomplished many things from 1906 to 1942. A lot of things happened such as he publishing many scientific papers such as light and general relativity theories. For these papers he became world famous and received the Nobel prize for in 1921. He also had a long conflict with other scientists over whose theory is correct. The most exceptional of these 2 scientists were Bose and Bohr. He also opposed Nazism during this time.

Albert Einstein died on April 17, 1955 when he was 76. People all over the world were shook by this great scientist’s death. He died in Princeton Hospital of an aortic aneurysm. He now has monuments in many places in the world to honor him. Doctors have preserved his brain to see why he was so smart so future doctors could try to maybe implant smartness in someone’s brain.
