"You will never amount to anything." ("Albert Einstein."). These words were told to a young boy by his teacher. This boy turned out to be the one and only Albert Einstein who achieved greatness beyond one's imagination. Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1897. From the time he was a toddler, people realized he was different from other children his age. He soon became the greatest theoretical physicist of all time. He won the Nobel Prize in 1921 for his explanation of the photoelectric effect (Michio, Kaku). He devoted himself to finding a connection between time, space, matter, and energy, which he soon discovered ("Albert Einstein."). He is well known for his equation E = mc2. Einstein had gone through many hardships in his life. Many doubted and criticized him, yet he didn't give up because of their pessimistic views and opinions. He continued to fight for what he believed in. People tried to persuade him to contribute in the war. He declined and stood by his beliefs though there were various offers. Albert Einstein was not only an extraordinary scientist but also a brilliant mind, who was resilient to pessimistic opinions, and took up responsibility for the benefit of the people.

From the time Albert Einstein was just a little boy, he showed a tremendous aptitude for mathematics, an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a brilliant mind. Most people in this world prefer to be taught rather than to learn. "Albert preferred to learn on his own; in his early teens he taught himself advanced mathematics and science. He followed this pattern of independent study throughout the rest of his life."("Albert Einstein" contemporary). He self studied and taught himself a variety of things. He preferred studying independently rather than with a group. Most people need someone to teach them advanced mathematics, but Einstein taught it to himself. This shows that he was brilliant in mathematics and understood it from the very beginning. Everyone thought of Albert to be average or slightly below average, and slow on uptake, as he was different from other kids. "the boy was considered only moderately talented by his teachers. Yet at the end of his first school year his mother could proudly relate that Albert's report card was splendid and his second term marks again put him at the top of his class."(Wolf and Goodman). Einstein's teachers did not believe that Einstein would be a good student. Most of the teachers in his school considered him to be just an average student. He soon proved these teachers wrong, and made his mother proud by showing his brilliant talent in academics. As he grew, he became more gifted day by day. "Einstein's most far-reaching accomplishment of 1905 may well have been his third paper, dealing with the development of relativity theory. In that paper, Einstein suggested a new way of looking at the universe, the first real break in physical thought since the time of Isaac Newton. The problem with which Einstein began was the speed of light."("Albert Einstein "World ). After Isaac Newton, Einstein was the first person to exhibit that spark of brilliance that lead to a major discovery. This spark of brilliance shows the power of Einstein's mind to question everything. Einstein was indeed a brilliant mind who was misunderstood in the beginning, but soon revealed his talents. Instead of using his brilliance for self benefit, he used it to make our world a better place.

Albert Einstein was resilient ever since he was just a little boy attending primary school. He never let negative thoughts, or comments get better of him. "he was a public figure who gave generously of his time and energy to causes he supported, enduring harsh criticism and even risking death as a result of the stands he took on some of the major issues of his day."("Albert Einstein." contemporary). Albert was a famous personality who spent time and effort on things he believed in. He risked his life for things he believed in. Though many people criticized him, he was resilient, and stood up for what he believed. Einstein wasn't afraid of having an opinion. "Einstein's work was interrupted by World War I. A lifelong pacifist, he was only one of four intellectuals in Germany to sign a manifesto opposing Germany's entry into war." (Michio). Out of four geniuses in Germany, Einstein was the one to go against Germany entering the war, as he had his own beliefs and was not afraid of going against the pack. "This kind of education stifled the imagination. Albert once said, 'Imagination is more important than knowledge.' He was unhappy and grew even quieter in school." (Sullivan and Ferri). Einstein believed that the education system suppressed creativity, and that having an imagination was more important than learning texts. He was resilient to the school system and became quiet and unhappy in school. Albert Einstein was always a resilient man from birth to death. If he supported a cause or had an opinion; he would fight for it and wouldn't be driven back into the pack by criticism.

Albert Einstein was a responsible adult who helped everyone he could. He considered himself responsible for things that weren't directly his fault. "his general theory of relativity provided the theoretical explanation for the research that spawned the first atomic bomb. Its use against the Japanese in August, 1945, horrified him. He later became chairman of the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists, a group that encouraged countries to focus on developing peaceful uses for nuclear energy." ("Albert Einstein." contemporary ). The atomic bomb works on the explanation of his general theory of relativity. After the bomb was used against the people of Japan, he was horrified. He blamed himself for this event, and made it his responsibility to do everything in his power to stop such a thing from happening again. He made it his responsibility to save lives. "In the chaos unleashed after the war, in November 1918, radical students seized control of the University of Berlin and held the rector of the college and several professors hostage. Many feared that calling in the police to release the officials would result in a tragic confrontation. Einstein, because he was respected by both students and faculty, was the logical candidate to mediate this crisis. Together with Max Born, Einstein brokered a compromise that resolved it" (Michio). When the rector and several professors were held hostage, Einstein took it upon himself to help them. Instead of running away, or turning to others for help; he took the lead; he made a deal and resolved the situation which might have been catastrophic. Albert Einstein took it upon himself to help protect and save everyone he could. He made it his responsibility even though he didn't have to.

Albert Einstein was a great scientist who put the lives and happiness of others before his own. He was brilliant, and didn't allow the situation to hold him back from pursuing his dream. "No one in the family was particularly gifted in science or math" ("Albert Einstein" contemporary). Even though he didn't have anyone to help him learn mathematics; he became one of the best mathematicians this world has seen. His childhood teaches us that no matter what situation we face, we must use our creativity and intelligence to move forward to reach our goal. This inspires us to showcase our brilliance and face any challenge. "He refused to participate in war-related research that was expected of college professors during the war. Only his Swiss citizenship protected him from retribution for his 'unpatriotic' views and acts." ("Albert Einstein" world). He was a lifelong pacifist; and he stood by his ideals even when they were deemed to be unpatriotic. His resilience against pessimistic thoughts, and comments teaches us that we shouldn't be afraid of standing by our causes even if others don't agree with us. Albert Einstein was a brilliant, resilient, and responsible scientist; who devoted his life to make the lives of the people better. He didn't just give our world theories and principles, but also left upon the world a footprint of individuality that continues to inspire people even decades after his death. He was not just an amazing scientist but also an amazing person, who undoubtedly deserves the title of hero.
