Anne Frank

by Haley from Florence

Many years ago, Anne Frank, a young girl, changed the life of thousands of people. Living in World War II and being Jewish, Anne spent much of her time hiding. While she silently concealed herself in an attic space, she wrote a diary that later was published into the book Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. I think everyone should look up to her courageousness and self-control during this last point in her life. Anne’s attitude toward the situation at that time period shows how kind, caring, and heroic she was.

Even as a young girl, Anne Frank inspired and still inspires many people to be like her. In her diary, she says, “Despite everything, I believe people are really good at heart.” Through this statement, she captured the essence of a hero in compassion, meekness, and wisdom. It takes a lot for a fourteen or fifteen year old girl to say that when Nazi soldiers killed so many people like her. Kindness and humbleness shined throughout her life. Anne’s personality characteristics show a heroic spirit.

To conclude, Anne Frank lived out all of the character traits of a hero. She cared about others more than herself. Showing humbleness, she quickly talked about other people first, unlike most people who would like the topic of discussion to be them. Her maturity exceeds all expectations of a young teenager. The quote from her diary definitely confirms that. Anne showed all of the role model qualities, and for this reason, she is definitely my hero.
