Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who lived in Germany. Due to the Holocaust, her family was forced to hide in the loft above her father’s old office during World War II. She ate the same thing everyday and always had to be quiet. They didn’t want to be discovered so they had to be very secretive. I cannot imagine going through this myself. It must have been very hard.

She kept a journal which is one of the ways we know a lot about the Holocaust. She was given the diary for her thirteenth birthday. In her Diary (which is now famous) she explains all about her life. She wrote as much as she could, and that is why we even know about her and her family. I found her journal to be funny because she expresses her true feelings about life.

Anne Frank was eventually discovered and arrested. She was then transferred to a concentration camp. She and her sister died within days of each other. Anne Frank died in March, 1945, when she was sixteen.

Anne Frank made the most of everything. She was positive, and I wish I could be more like her. Anne lived through a tough part of history that I think everyone could learn more about. She shows great character traits and I appreciate her very much. That is why Anne Frank is my Hero.
