Alexander Hamilton

by Corey and Mia from Cincinnati

Alexander Hamilton is our hero because he defended the United States of America and expressed himself in ways that most people didn't dare to do. He wrote about the Constitution, he wrote letters to his wife, and he wrote to defend his title after cheating with Maria Reynolds. He even created the first bank to help citizens grow as one. Hamilton did all those things and many more. After coming from the Caribbean in 1755, Hamilton helped shape our country into what it is today. He created the first bank to help citizens grow as one.

Though having come to the United States from the Caribbean (making him an immigrant), Alexander Hamilton's devotion to protecting the United States was as great as any American man. He had many positions that helped further his dedication to the government. Though one of his "role(s) was relatively minor and he was privately critical of the Constitution it produced. He nonetheless devoted his full energy to ratification in 1787 and 1788." (Countryman). He showed respect of the country, no matter his role. Hamilton always provided enough reason to support his claims on whatever subject he brings to the table. Even during the heat of battle Hamilton provided support for his allies.

Hamilton's actions during war are considered by most to be the achievements of one who is a hero. His aide alongside George Washington is more than enough to think so ("Alexander Hamilton: a Short"). They (and more) fought for the freedom of the United States. The wars Hamilton fought in include the Revolutionary War, Battle of White Plains, Battle of Harlem Heights, the Quasi-War, Siege of Yorktown, Monmouth, Princeton, Brandywine, Germantown, and Trenton. He fought the majority of these wars by George Washington. Though Alexander Hamilton may have done these amazing things, there's still so much to recall.

A hero is somebody who is able to overcome any obstacle in their way. No, they do not have to be any certain shape or size to care for others around them. Alexander Hamilton fits the definition because he is a hero to the citizens of the United States. He defended his country by both fighting in wars and writing. Alexander also created the first bank for our country to grow on and expand. Alexander is a hero to many in the United States and he will continue to be. His actions have left a large impact on our world. When someone pushed him down, he got back up again. Last Alexander showed that even though he wasn't like other politicians he pushed through and made his mark on the world.
