There are many heroes but mine is Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States. Abraham Lincoln had many traits of a true hero because he fought for what he believed in, such as ending slavery.
Lincoln had many jobs before he became President. On his first job, he chopped down trees for 25 cents. His second job was being a soldier. His third job was a mail person. He walked miles to give people their mail. His fourth job was a lawyer. Even though his family was poor and didn’t have enough money for him to enter school, he taught himself how to read and that’s how he became a great lawyer.
On April 15, 1865 when Abraham Lincoln was watching the third act of a play, John Wilkes assassinated Lincoln by shooting him in the back of the head. Then on May 4, 1865 Lincoln was taken on a train to Springfield Cemetery where he was buried.
