Hi my name is Sam and my hero is Abe Lincoln. He is my hero because he is a president of the United States of America and someone who freed slaves. Well I will tell you about him. He lived in a log cabin. He was born at Harden Country, Kentucky on February 12, 1809. Abe’s mom died when he was nine.

He became president on 1861 on March 4. Then on a horrifying day he saw men selling a woman so he fought for freedom from slavery and he won.

He was still president in the Civil War. Later he was shot at a play on April 15, 1865. He died at 7:22 in the morning.

He was in the Civil War. Well I am sad that Abe died but he freed slaves. That’s why he is my hero. Who is your hero?
