Abraham Lincoln was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky on February 12th, 1809. The reason Abraham Lincoln is famous is because he was one of the presidents of the United States of America. He was also voted the best president of all time in Washington D.C. He is a hero because he believed everyone should have been equal so he signed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863  to stop the slavery of Negroes. Not long after that Abraham Lincoln was assassinated for what he believed. I believe it takes a big person to stand up and die because of their beliefs and to change the world.

Abraham Lincoln was born and raised in Hodgenville, Kentucky. Abraham Lincoln was introduced to the idea of becoming president when he started to read about it and started Abraham would walk miles just to read books about becoming a president. Abraham Lincoln's family was very poor and at the age of nine Abraham's mom died and his dad remarried not long after to a woman with three children.

Abraham Lincoln did not attend college; he only had about 18 months of schooling when he was a child. Before Abraham Lincoln was the president of the United States of America he was a lawyer.

Abraham Lincoln was a lawyer before he was president and when he was a lawyer he read books and books about becoming a president. Abraham Lincoln was recognized when he became president and tried to stop slavery. Abraham Lincoln had many awards and acknowledgements such has his face was plastered on the American penny and the five dollar bill. He also had a statue built for him and it still stands in Washington D.C. and also his face is carved into the side of Mount Rushmore.

Abraham Lincoln tried to stop slavery because he believed every man and women black or white should be equal. There was still slavery in America but, before he died in 1865, he pushed through the 13th Amendment so maybe if Abraham Lincoln never became president slavery would have taken longer to abolish. Abraham Lincoln should be remembered for trying to stop something he believed and that mattered. Abraham Lincoln made a big impact on my life because I neither believe in slavery or racism. I would like to be like this person because he made many people's lives better than they already were and made a huge impact on the world
