Aimee Mullins was born in 1976, and with Fibular hemimelia. Then she had to get both legs amputated when she was one year old. She was in T.V., movies, in books and magazines. Aimee is a model, and she runs for marathons and does long jump to raise money for cancer.

Aimee Mullins talked to kids in a grade one class and told them to say what they really think about her. She also said what it was like to have no legs and had to use fake legs. Aimee Mullins went on the stage and told other people the story about when she went to the grade one class.

When Aimee Mullins was older she decided to work towards competing in the 1996 Paralympic games in Atlanta, Georgia. To do so, she obtained her first pair of sprinting legs so she could run in the Paralympic games. She remains active in sports and served as 2005's President-elect of the women's sports foundation

Aimee Mullins wanted to go to Hollywood . At the Paralympic trials, she came in first in all her events. She was so fast that she was placed with arm amputees at the following meet instead, without being told.
