The band Avenged Sevenfold came from Huntington Beach, California, while they were still in high school in 1999. M. Shadows (vocals), Zacky Vengeance (guitar), Synyster Gates (guitar), the Reverend (drums), and Johnny Christ (bass), are the men in the band we now know and love. They are a Christian band, and they get their point across a lot differently than traditional Christian bands.

All band members were raised in Huntington Beach, California, so they grew up with a punk and metal background. They quickly went on to create their own kind of sound that can be influential and shows their belief in God. They were influenced by bands such as Pantera and Guns 'N' Roses. They have become top chart rockers who now have a very large fan base.

My hero is still living with an exception of one member. They live in California and almost a year ago on July 27th their newest album Nightmare came out. Currently they are a tour that started January 20th, 2011. One of the band members died two years ago. His name is James Owen Sullivan nicknamed "The Rev." He was a member of he band for 10 years. He was born on February 9th, 1981 and died December 28th, 2001.
