Albert Pujols is my hero. A hero is strong physically; skilled at what he does, and is a good role model who does not have an attitude. Albert Pujols is from the Dominican Republic. He was born on January 16, 1980. He moved to America when he was 16. His father was a popular pitcher in the Dominican Republic. Scouts from the major leagues watched him play at both the high school and collegiate level.

Albert Pujols is a good role model and doesn't have an attitude. He helps Down syndrome kids and adults. He has events like the Celebrity Golf Classic. He also pays for Down syndrome kids and adults to take self defense classes and buses for baseball. He had a big autumn party for people that have Down syndrome. At this October event Down syndrome kids and adults got to paint pumpkins and to dress up in their costumes. They had games and coloring activities, poster making, food, a bounce house and an apple guy walking around. He also does the O Night Divine, a Christmas fundraiser dinner. He rented an entire bowling alley just for an event for the mothers that have daughters with Down syndrome.

He won the Silver Slugger award in 2001, 2003, and 2004. In 2005 he was named the National League MVP. One year he was runner up to Barry Bonds for National League MVP. He was runner up the third time in his short career. They won the National League championship series in 2004

Albert is not a contact hitter. He is a power hitter. In 2006 he hit 49 homeruns and had a .331 batting average. In 2008 he had a 357 batting average and 116 RBIs. The next season he hit a 327 batting average with 47 homeruns and 135 RBIs. He was given the NL MVP award. He was the fastest to hit 300 home runs.
