Alex Rodriguez

The word hero, to me, is a word that describes amazing abilities such as Superman or someone like that. It can also mean just a role model or a mentor. He or she can also be a human. To me, some of the best things a hero can have are good sportsmanship, a good personality, and a never ending desire to do better.

My hero is a fantastic athlete and encourages me to do better each time I play the strategic game of baseball. His name is Alex Rodriguez, AKA A Rod. He is an incredible athlete. He has good sportsmanship. He is a good hero. Last summer, whenever I was at my uncle's house in Dallas, my uncle, my cousin, my aunt and I went to a Rangers versus Yankees game. The Yankees is the team which Alex plays for. It was like a dream come true for me. Alex hit a home run, but it was not to me. Yet in the next game in the series, he hit one exactly where we were sitting.

Alex will always be my hero no matter what, whether or not he is in the twilight of his career. In 2009, he admitted that he used performance enhancing drugs while playing for the Texans. It was a disappointment to me, but everybody makes mistakes. After all he is human. Put it this way, he is an incredible human if he can hit 612 home runs in his career, and 1825 RBIs. If you know baseball you know that that is a lot of RBI s and home runs.

If anybody ever tells you that you can not do something because it is too hard just ignore them. Either he or she is jealous, a bad person, or just do not know what they are talking about. I can not tell you how many times that has happened to me and I am pretty sure Alex, too. I also play baseball and dream to become as rich and famous as A-Rod.

Alex has good sportsmanship, he has a good personality, he has a never ending desire to do better. Alex is my hero no matter what people say, do, or hear about Alex. It does not change the fact that he is my hero.
